Slapstick
Homage to Buster Keaton
Slapstick is a wordless, physical comedy that follows slapstick and stunt performer Kasper Ravnhøj in his attempt to create the world’s best slapstick act. It’s the story of the indomitable struggle of the little person against always overwhelming odds. The fight to keep one’s head held high while falling on one’s backside. A timeless tribute to Buster Keaton and the slapstick genre for all ages. Audiences witness the performer’s arduous work, resulting in a wild and escalating series of stunts and gags. The performance extends beyond the stage and integrates the audience as part of the overall experience. The underlying story within the genre is always the same: the little person’s struggle against greater powers. Therefore, the performance is both comical and timeless with clear parallels to the challenges of modern life. Inspiration comes from the incomparable comedian Buster Keaton’s life and work (1895-1966), whose timing, humor, and daring courage continue to inspire clowns, comedians, and performers worldwide.
